Tim Spidel has always had a passion for music and technology, studying CIS in college and working with computers and technology in his early 20s. In 2005, he began casually mixing sound for local bands, and by 2007, his side gig turned into a serious passion project and Overflo Productions was born. Initially, Overflo Productions focused solely on live audio, but as the company and team has grown, so has the scope of their services. Now, Overflo Productions offers the latest and greatest in live audio, lighting, video, and set design, keeping up with industry standard equipment and software. In addition to having the quality of resources of a large company, Tim and Overflo pride themselves on offering one-on-one, personalized, boutique-style service to the clients they live to serve. The team at Overflo love working with talented local artists and venues in their hometown of Florence, Alabama, just as much as they love providing production to artists and promoters all across the country. Tim, Phillip, and the crew of Overflo work hard to ensure that the goals of every client are met to the fullest, whether the event is a small wedding, a one-day concert, multi-day festival, or full-blown touring production.
Owner/Audio Engineer/Set Design/Production Manager
In 2007, Tim started Overflo Productions with little more than a 16-channel Allen & Heath mixer and a passion for production. Now, Tim oversees daily operations at Overflo, works obsessively on set design, and tours as an audio engineer and production manager. After work, you can catch Tim mountain biking, and don’t be surprised if he arrives to your gig a day early to check out the local trails.
If you need paperwork and you need it fast, Shelly is your girl. Shelly puts the “flo” in the office here at Overflo. When the office is quiet, Shelly might sneak off to her sewing studio and whip up a quilt or a dress. Around the clock, Shelly is always working on growing the next member of the Overflo team – a baby coming October 1st.
Set Design/Lighting Design/Warehouse Manager
Phillip is the artist-in-residence at Overflo. His eye for color and creativity make him an excellent lighting and set designer, and he puts his patient and observant demeanor to work in the shop, ensuring every detail of every event is taken care of from start to finish. When he’s not engineering lights, his band Carver Commodore may be playing in your town, or you can find him hanging with his new bride, Mary Catherine.
